Totally naive, in so many ways (Fox canceled the show because of shame? Riiiiight), but entertaining if only for the comparison of Rupert Murdoch to a three-year old that hits his brother.

Now, in this metaphor, are we the parental units, or the brother? Or the neighbors who can't figure out what the heck's going on with that dysfunctional family next door...

After taking on a role in the musical "Taboo," actor Jeffrey Carlson has signed on to play a transgendered character in the U.S. soap, "All My Children."

When Carlson embraces his new role Thursday on the popular TV series as Zarf, it will mark the first time a transgendered character will be featured on a daytime series, Playbill.com reported.

"'All My Children' has a long standing commitment to telling socially relevant stories that entertain and inform," series exec Julie Hanan Carruthers said. "Viewers can expect a heartfelt story between two people who share a common ground, yet learn about inherent differences and understanding. At its core, this is a story of acceptance and love."

USA Today has an article this morning about Season 3's ubiquitous "others:"

This season's Others story line is creating a new population boom on Lost.

In tonight's episode (ABC, 9 ET/PT), the series finally reconnects with established characters Locke (Terry O'Quinn), Charlie (Dominic Monaghan), Claire (Emilie de Ravin), Eko (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), Hurley (Jorge Garcia) and Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick), absent since May's cliffhanger.

"We feel like Jay Leno, who has a garage full of fancy cars and can only drive one every day," says executive producer Carlton Cuse. "We have a garage full of fancy, wonderful actors, and we just don't have as much time to drive each one as much as we want to."

The "others" are definitely the focus right now, which only makes sense, but I will be looking forward to finding out exactly what happened to Locke. The most interesting tidbit from the article?

The producers promise that all will get their due -- and that more characters will be introduced and others will return.

Makes you wonder who they're talking about...

Tonight's episode is entitled "Further Instructions." There's a brief synopsis over at the ABC Lost site.

Good reviews so far for NBC's 30 Rock:

What Fey manages to do with this large crew is both share the spotlight and increase the wattage. Like the best TV comedies - from "Seinfeld" to "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," and all the way back to "The Jack Benny Program" - "30 Rock" sparkles not just because its central star gets to shine, but because everyone does. And it doesn't need a laugh track. Watching at home, I guarantee, you'll supply your own.

I can't wait -- sounds like a nice intro to The Office, which is also gloriously laugh-trackless. Tonight's episode?

Michael forces his staff to attend grief counseling after the death of his former regional manager.

I'm imagining the very worst. If you're looking for more Office stuff before tonight's episode, check out Dwight's blog. A sample entry?

I don't 'hate' salmon. I really, really, really 'DONT LIKE' salmon.

Just a clarification. I recieved hundreds (literally TWO!) e-mails from people who actually like salmon and we're furious with me for insulting their stinky, pink, pukey fish.

If you like salmon so much why don't you go read the blog of one! Not possible. Salmon don't keep blogs. They're too stupid.

Point made.

Indeed.
