The Fate of The Nine

by Jacki Garfinkel

The Nine is dead. Dead as in Smith, Kidnapped, 3 lbs., Vanished, Runaway and Happy Hour. Dead as in not coming back. While ABC publicity continues to say there is "nothing new" regarding the status of The Nine, MediaVillage has been told the show is over.

ABC's Steve McPherson on Lost, The Nine and More

by Ed Martin

Pasadena, CA -- The first big broadcast network presentation here at the January 2007 Winter Television Critics Association tour brought with it the first big programming announcement of what has otherwise been a largely news free event - the return in March of ABC's Dancing with the Stars.

The Status of The Nine,

by Jacki Garfinkel

For all The Nine fans out there (including myself), I don't have bad news, but I don't exactly have great news either.

The Nine has not been cancelled. But it's still on temporary hiatus.

ABC's Programming Chief Steve McPherson told MediaVillage, "I love the show, but honestly we don't have a set game plan right now."

MediaVillage Tries to Save The Nine

by Jacki Garfinkel

When MediaVillage.com first found out that The Nine was put on "temporary" hiatus from the ABC schedule, we set out on a quest to save the show. We obviously weren't alone, as we received numerous SoundOffs from our readers hoping to save The Nine. In addition, we have a poll on our homepage, and at the time of publication, 80.9% of our readers voted to save the show.

The Duel: The Nine of MTV

by Jacki Garfinkel

I've taken the last week or so to try and gain some perspective on my fight with my lifelong friend, ABC, over putting The Nine on hiatus. I'm still calling it a 'hiatus' even though the word 'cancellation' keeps gnawing away at my inner couch potato. I guess you could say I've been on my own hiatus from ABC.

Save The Nine, ABC or We're Over

by Kara Rozansky

Dear ABC,
Someone needs to sit you down and give it to you straight. Better yet, someone needs to stand you up and give you a reality slap to the head. Since restraining orders are really more trouble than they're worth, I'll save us all some paperwork and deliver that slap verbally.

Save The Nine

by Crissy Brown

ABC has announced that it's pulling The Nine from its schedule starting with the November 29 episode. This is so cruel because the show just returned November 22. This is one of the best shows of the new season. I had all episodes on the HD DVR until I had to send it back for a new one and am missing only episodes 1-3 on the other DVR.

The Nine: It's Complicated, Deal With It

by Kara Rozansky

The creators of The Nine must empathize with the pain Ashlee Simpson felt when she penned the classic ballad "Living in the Shadow," a.k.a. "I Am Not My Sister." No matter how they tell their story, there's always some pesky commentator comparing The Nine to Lost. It's gotten so bad that people still don't believe the two shows are different even after executive producer Alex Gravesspoke out about the annoying comparison.

Interview: Executive Producer Alex Graves says The Nine is NOT Like Lost

by Kara Rozansky

Everywhere I look people are calling this or that show "The Number One" whatever of the fall season. I lost track somewhere after Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip and before Ugly Betty. It heartens me to see so many scripted shows garnering early acclaims, but the available labels have become meaningless. I won't say The Nine is the Best, the Greatest, or the Numero Uno new program out there. Instead, I only want to tell you that it makes me say "gimme, gimme, gimme" despite my lukewarm feelings about its website.

The Nine: Does the ABC Website Give Too Much Away?

by Kara Rozansky

Walking along 7th Avenue in New York City I caught a glimpse of something that gave me the shivers all over. And it wasn't the toothless bum making strange hip-thrusting motions at me that did it.

No, what gave me the (good) creeps stood behind my new suitor - a subway advertisement for The Nine.

The Nine Preview

by Ashmi Dang

"It was a regular day."

I try (and sometimes fail) to live by the rule "less is more." I say this at the opening of this review because there is really only one word needed to describe this pilot and new series - gripping.

(Not Quite) Nine Reasons to Watch The Nine

by Kara Rozansky

When I first heard about ABC's new drama series, The Nine, I was excited for two reasons:

1. As anyone who's anyone knows, the hot new trend in television titles for the fall is to include a number in the show's name. This holds especially true for any program about late-night comedy sketch shows.
