The Simpsons: Selma Gets Married...Again

by Joe Vitale

Another Simpsons episode, another husband for Selma. How many has it been now? I can't remember, as apparently she's been married a few times outside of regular continuity. But this one was probably the most disturbing, as she married Grandpa. Which makes her...let's see...Homer's step-mom AND sister-in-law. Marge's mother-in-law AND sister, and Bart, Lisa and Maggie's aunt AND grandmother. It also makes Homer and Marge step-brother and sister, I think. Eww. How did this not involve Cletus somehow?

The Simpsons: Third in a Musical Trilogy

by Joe Vitale

This week's Simpsons treated us to a "Sound of Music" spoof, which by my count is the third take off on a beloved musical in as many years. Two seasons ago we had the "Evita" episode, last season it was "My Fair Lady," and now we have "The Sound of Music." At this rate, we should get the "Oklahoma!" episode next season and "Damn Yankees" by 2010.

The Simpsons: Tasty Stone Soup

by Joe Vitale

This week's episode treated us to the world premiere of the newest trailer to the Simpsons Movie, coming out this summer. It was a full-length trailer, and yet I have no idea what the movie's about. There was absolutely no semblance of a plot, it seemed like random clips from equally random scenes thrown together to make a trailer. Yet it still got me excited about seeing the movie. Hmm. I used to work in feature animation, so I can take a guess at what probably happened here...

The Simpsons: More Utah and Less Lisa

by Joe Vitale

I've been watching The Simpsons since before George Hamilton was born, so I think I'm qualified to offer this widely-held insight amongst the show's fan community: Lisa episodes suck. It's always been this way, and it's not like the show's writers are unaware of this - I once had a conversation with one of the writers who complained about always being given the Lisa episodes. He, like I, knew that Lisa episodes suck.
