Revenge is SVU-eet

by Maren Yeska

SVU trotted out a parade of guest stars and recurring characters in last night's season finale, the events of which are sure to change more than a few character's lives.

Ludacris reprised his role as the half brother of Finn's son, Ken. He is about to go to trial, accused of murdering a young woman. His trial is getting intense media coverage because it is known that he is related to Fin. Nancy Grace and Star Jones are seen several times debating the merits of the case on "The Nancy Grace Show" and hordes of reporters accost the team each day on the way into work.

SVU: Two Women Obsessed

by Maren Yeska

Last week's SVU was an Olivia-centric episode that brought her brother, Simon Marsden, back onto the canvas. Olivia's quest to bond with her brother and, more importantly, her obsession about getting answers about her father come close to costing her both her job and her life.

"Crazy Christians" on SVU

by Maren Yeska

Remember the "Crazy Christians" skit on Studio 60 that was only discussed but we never got to see? Whether that was because it was considered too offensive or whether it was even more unfunny than the skits we DID get to see was never revealed. Our SVU, thank heaven!!, which doesn't shy away from anything, put up no such filters.. featuring a story about some Crazy Christians with a Law And Order twist!" this week.

SVU: Siblings can be a HEAP of trouble

by Maren Yeska

Olivia learned this week that little brothers can be a whole heap of trouble sometimes (My apologies to any "Loyal Subjects of Garfield Goose" demeaned by this statement.) Now that O knows she has a little brother, she needs to find out all she can about him. Elliot finds her staking out his house in Jersey one night, figures out what she's up to, and agrees to stay with her and help. A couple of NJ uniformed cops come upon them there and wonder what the heck they're doing. They're keeping an eye on this guy too, we learn, because he is a suspect in several stalking and break-in cases. Olivia and Elliot are reprimanded by the Captain in NJ AND by their own captain, for sticking their noses where they don't belong.

SVU: Is Elliot back home?

by Maren Yeska

We're not sure.. but I think so. At one point, while working hard on this week's case, Elliot is told to take a break and "Go Home." He gets a look on his face, a kind of wistful smirk that made me think HE was thinking, "Yeah, I think I will, now that I have something to go home to again. " Of course, at that moment, more evidence on the case comes in and he has to stay at work anyway. (Isn't that always how it goes? )

SVU: Elliot, a Killer?

by Maren Yeska

We know our Elliot would never intentionallly murder anyone. But we also know that he's got a reputation for flying off the handle and having anger issues. So, when Elliot's pursuit of a perp gets a little rough and the perp stops breathing and dies right there on the street, IAB immediately assumes Elliot when over the edge and they put him on suspension.

SVU: Olivia Brockovich

by Maren Yeska

This week's SVU showcased Olivia and involved an interesting case. But given that the top of the episode featured a shirtless Elliot and toward the end, a sweet scene with Olivia and Elliot in the squad, late at night, with a tight close-up on those deep blue eyes, I am surprised that I was able to process what the rest of the show was about!

SVU - Mariska and Chris Sign!

by Maren Yeska

No more worries about whether we will have to endure an SVU without Olivia and Elliot. Late last week, Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay signed a new deal keeping them both on the show for 2 more seasons, and with a nice raise. Reportedly, they will each be making more than $330,000 an episode, which makes Mariska the highest paid actress on TV and puts Chris close to the top. (The top paid actor being, I must say I was surprised... Charlie Sheen of Two and a Half Men. I thought for sure it'd be Kiefer "Action Jack" Sutherland.)

SVU- Fin Fest

by Maren Yeska

The last new SVU showcased Fin (Ice T) in a case that also featured guest stars Adam Beach (from Flags of our Fathers) as a Brooklyn SVU who hooks up with Fin believing that murders he is working are linked to rapes that Fin is working. Kal Penn (Kumar of Harold and... and recently a terrorist/high school student on 24) also appears in the episode.

by Maren Yeska

SVU - When love warps into hate.

by Maren Yeska

Last night's SVU was one of the best I can remember. It featured a compelling and touching case, acting by great guest stars, an SVU directorial debut by Eriq LaSalle (Dr. Benton of ER fame), and for all the Elliot/Olivia fans out there, exchanges between them both fiery and tender.

by Maren Yeska

SVU: Dani says Goodbye

by Maren Yeska

Dani departed the SVU this week as we knew we would: Having learned that getting too close, to the cases and to your partner, can burn you.

The case this week involved two kids, a boy and a girl, being transported back to the adoption agency after a bad experience at the foster home. The girl is played by Elle Fanning, who is showing talent equal to that of her big sister, Dakota. She did a great job in a House episode last season and was equally good and compelling to watch in this episode.

SVU: A kiss before LEAVING??

by Maren Yeska

Yes, there was a case this week on SVU. There were dead teenage prostitutes, an evil pimp, a natural mom that cares too little and foster moms that care and pay the price, but did any of us care about any of that? Well, yeah... sure... sort of... But, all we really wanted to see was the return of Olivia, that first reunion between her and Elliot, and the kiss that was promo'd to death between Elliot and Dani. So, what did we get?

Don't Pre-empt my SVU!

by Maren Yeska

After an excellent episode of House last night, I was psyched to continue my avoidance of the election returns by watching L&O SVU. The previews from last week made it look super exciting. Olivia's back, which is exciting enough by itself. But we also haven't seen Elliot and Olivia seeing each other yet, AND it looked like Elliot and Dani were going to be gettin' it on.
